Attractions

Souters is within the glorious Dedham Vale. Opportunities for walking, cycling, boating, fishing, golfing, visiting National Trust properties, gardens, tea rooms and gastro pubs are virtually on the doorstep.

From a day to Newmarket races to Stock Car racing in Ipswich; from the internationally renowned Snape Maltings to the dodgems on Walton Pier; there is something for families, groups and couples of all ages.

The delightful village of Dedham is only 2 miles away and is well worth visiting. It is considered to be the very heart of Constable country, as well as home to Munnings Museum it has many beautiful buildings including a magnificent church.  There is an art and craft centre and several excellent places to eat.

Colchester and Ipswich are local towns and have many attractions featured in suffolkmuseums.org and thriving theatres and art centres in both towns.

Other interesting local towns include Hadleigh and Sudbury.  The recently re-vamped Gainsborough House and new gallery are well worth a visit.

The River Stour Festival celebrates the river, its culture, communities and surrounding landscape throughout 2020.

Jimmy's Farm is nearby and very popular;  in the summer The Red Rose Theatre Chain puts on successful performances in the wood there.

Woodbridge and Bury St Edmunds are also not too far away - Wyken Hall

RSPB areas of Minsmere and Dunwich Heath are within easy reach.

Snape Maltings has music performance, good places to eat and shopping possibilities.

Eating out is one of the pleasures of being on holiday and we are fortunate to be surrounded by many fine gastro pubs and restaurants.  Several within walking or cycling distance.
